Cognitive Map

              Cognitive Map

As part of the B ed curriculum, a Cognitive Map was prepared manually consisting each unit from Plus one and Plus two.
Mapping in writing is an attempt of really handy techniques that help children to organise their thoughts early on in the writing process. Mapping is a more general term that includes strategies like mind mapping, listing, brainstorming and others too. There are various techniques that children can use like concept maps, flowcharts and lists of pros and cons. When new knowledge is integrated with and connected to existing knowledge that new knowledge is easier to understand and to remember. A professor’s job is to build scaffolding from existing knowledge on which to hang incoming new knowledge. Using a concept map is one way to build that scaffolding. A concept map is a visual representation of knowledge. The process enables one to organize and structure information and the relationships between them. This may be done in a wholly graphical manner i.e. using images, photos, colour etc. to highlight differing concepts and their linkages or by identifying key the concepts by name or title and enclosing them in a visual box then providing connecting navigation to lesser concepts.
A concept map is a way to visually display the relationships between different concepts, ideas, and pieces of information. Concept maps are hierarchical, with one main idea or focus question and several sub-topics, key concepts, and related ideas.
Although they look similar, concept maps are not the same as mind maps. Concept maps are generally more robust visualizations, with additional context and connections between ideas.
This assignment contains a concept map for Plus One and Plus Two students, based on the units, “Live and Let Live “and “Beyond the Horizon “respectively.
I choose Beyond the Horizon from Plus one and Live and Let Live from Plus two.
